I wrote myself a poem
On a greasy paper plate
I left it for the waitress
Cos I liked the way she waits
It was all about the people
And I hope it's not too late
I've seen it all

I've heard the politicians
Every word an empty sound
I've watched the money brokers
Taking everybody down
And forget about the media
They're just propaganda clowns
I've seen it all

I don't see what other people see

Rich girls waste a fortune on a rag

The grinning kid from Twitter
Destruction on parade
The busy boy from Facebook
Only wanted to get laid
The Google guys don't give a damn
As long as they get paid

Just to watch the apple rot
And I went up to Chicago
To see if I'd get shot
And the dream of California
Isn't worth a second thought
