The Dragonfly Queen
[Verse 1]
That december we met on the Eastern shore on a boat
You were singing and dancing I wanted to let go
But the water was rising and it threatened to drag us down
Just us alone on the river, all our friends had all left town
[Verse 2]
And so we stumbled ahead and assembled some sign of a home
What begun as a dream sonn became a great labour of love
And as we parted our ways we held on to the strain of a doubt
That we would never again be the same from within or without
[Verse 3]
And as you stare into his eyes you can tell there's a sort of a glow
That he'll be wiser than ussomeday and we should know
Will he forgive us for sins, will he forgive us for failures and doubts
Will he look back on us and wish that we could have just figured it out
