Walking in the Woods
Autumn’s last memory fades
Oak crumples under feet
Red leather jacket snuggles she
Against winter’s first white kiss
She found a sleeping car
With holes so it could breathe
Red sprinkles on the glass
Black hair slain across the seat
She was walking in the woods
But now she’s running
To get away
Meanwhile through the woodland
He scrapes the leaves from his shoe
Red molasses sticks and leaves and bit of skull
Squired out from the axe holes
Twigs Snapping through the mist
Prey Mary guides her home
Their eyes meet, this is love
Until death yee shall part, which will be soon…but not quick
He was walking in the woods
But now he’s running
After you
