Three Reflections
I rose this morning to the dawning of the aftermath
An engine fired as I jumped up to the curb
I turned my thoughts away and stood up for detention
And in the silence there came a little bird
Saint Peter takes a cigarette and tells me its a lonely trip
I'm on the threshold of being changed
Such times are these. It's a slow strip tease
Ghost into ghost into ghost into ghost
Now I can see that's the way you show me
As I rise from this place to the light of your grace
Now I believe that's the way it should be
And the tears trembling on a gift that you bring to me
Last night I dreamed that I walked into a strange house
Pushed the wall and it fell into three sections
I cleared away the dust and turned in to a mirror
Then looked inside and was filled with three reflections
In my mind there exists a hidden fortress
I lay the topple to the ground and be destroyed
I find my way again and fall into submission
Then build it up once more and slip back into the void
Now I can see that's the way you built me
As I rise from this place to the light of your grace
Now I believe that's the way it should be
And the tears trembling on a gift that you bring to me
I rose this morning to the dawning of the aftermath
An engine fired as I jumped up to the curb
I turned my thoughts away and fell into submission
And in the silence then I heard a little bird
Saint Peter takes a cigarette and tells me its a lonely trip
I'm on the threshold of being changed
Such times are these. It's a slow strip tease
Ghost into ghost into ghost into ghost
Now I can see that's the way you show me
As I rise from this place to the light of your grace
Now I believe that's the way it should be
And the tears trembling on a gift that you bring to me
