La Memoria

La Memoria

There was a man who lived right outside of town
For generations his family lived in that house
Never talked to anyone but I knew why
See he believed in the devil and the lies
Looked down on a color with his evil eyes
Said he saw angels with wings that fly
As white as the clouds that you see in the sky
White like the pride that he had inside
Poor guy
Cuz one day he said too much
To the wrong brown man who had enough
One thing led to the next
One flexed and the other one flexed
And now both of em rest in peace
Deceased by a beast that chews from the inside
Eats at your pride
Leave a man wonderin how did I die?
Never understandin the reason why

Estos ciclos son interminables
A no ser que cambiemos los canales
El amor rehace la Historia
La lucha será la memoria

A silver spoon a child born with it
Worked for nothing his parents would give it
Only half a man
Still he was handed down all the money from his clan
And paid for a way in the U.S.A. a real blue blood
Grandad owned slaves
But the nation had had enough
The black snake he made would be killed by us
The bombs that he dropped left us in disgust
The circus had left no one else he could trust
In a bubble thought he couldn’t be touched
Till he thought he could kill for lust
Must we see a man with no damn right
Send bombs away to be dropped in the night
In the name of the lord of the king your a liar
Prepare to be baptized in the fire

Somos sangre
Somos destino
Somos libre
Somos nativos

Estos ciclos son interminables
A no ser que cambiemos los canales
El amor rehace la historia
La lucha sera la memoria

Somos sangre
Somos destino
Somos libre
La lucha será la memoria

A woman raised as an only child
She grew up in a place where at night it got wild
They’d close the shades every night past eight
Cuz the streets raised the kids on nothin but hate
Gunshots would ring as her mother would sing her to sleep
She worked hard, college ain’t cheap
A dollar a day till she graduates at the top of her class despite the past
Her mom was elated glad she migrated
Her daughter had made it a life they created
Till one day on a traffic stop
The cop wanted papers her mother don’t got
He called in the border patrol with no soul
With eyes like ice and a smile so cold
Sent her back to her country of war and slaughter
And that was the last time she saw her daughter

Estos ojos se criaron en las calles
En la oscuridad donde no hay nadie
El amor rehace la historia
La lucha será la memoria

Somos sangre
Somos destino
Somos libre
Somos nativos

Estos ciclos son interminables
A no ser que cambiemos los canales
El amor rehace la historia
La lucha será la memoria

Estos ojos se criaron en las calles
En la oscuridad donde no hay nadie
El amor rehace la historia
La lucha será la memoria

La lucha será la memoria (2x)
