APPROACH OF A HUMAN BEING

GARY WALEIK

In all my wild dreams, I never thought I’d see the day
When someone coming near from afar could make me afraid
I wasn’t raised by wolves, but who knows? And what’s in a name?
Gotta define my terms, ‘cuz I think I hear the sound of a human being

Never thought you’d stoop so low as to see yourself as you really are
At best an animal with a conscience, or a human with none
Your instincts’ got you nailed to a family tree you’d soon ignore
You can’t choose your family or your deepest fear
The approach of a human being

Get it out of your mind
Lose yourself now
Get it out of your mind

Why dig the nature scene, or the jungle, when it’s right here at home?
Run with the human pack in the city so you won’t feel alone
Your friends the sharks and wolves keep a close eye on the bears and the bulls
Explain the difference now, and I’d say you just might pass for a human being
