I Still Cling to the Old Rugged Cross

As a child back in Sunday school
I learned this simple truth
That Jesus died to take my sin away
And I can still remember when
It changed my life way back then
And the cross is just as real to me today

I still believe in the power
Of the blood Jesus shed on Mount Calvary
And I still hold to the hope
That He's gone to prepare a dwelling place for me
And I still cling to the promise
That there is still forgiveness for the lost

Some may say I'm old enough to stand
Without holding His hand
But with each passing day, I need Him more
For He's become my everything
And that's the reason why I cling
To Calvary and all the Cross stands for
