Don't call me a star
Call me the comet that flew too far
Aimed for the sun and landed on the moon
Realized my mistake too soon
Cause all stars someday explode
Just like our sun when it gets old
But who are we to measure
It's still shining under all the pressure
My mamma always told me I would be somebody brilliant
But I'm afraid cause I'm just only one out of a million
I wish on every shooting star that my time to shine isn't too far
But I feel like I'm faltering
If my lungs are not my mind certainly is
Plagued with grades
Social charades and shit
I'm buying time with no dollar in hand
But it's about time that I took a stand

The ambition to be breaking under the seams
The pressure to be perfect makes me sick instead
The days I'd rather die feel me with dread
If I get my wish
Will I make it last
Am I a one hit wonder
Some solar flare blast
People always told me I was gonna be great
But if I'm being honest I think I wanna wait
Fame sounds nice but like what I lead
I don't want my art to get away from me
Adult dreams don't fit on a teen
Fears are larger than they seem
And I know I'm not even that old
But I'm growing out of the mold
