The Cowboy Song
Well, I used to be a cowboy in the time of days gone by
And to be the voice of justice in the age of the outlaws' cry
And I used to go and ride the range and chase the cattle down
Then I went to sleep alone on my bed-roll on the ground
Singin' I will be a cowboy again
I will ride the dusty road again-
Till the end
I used to herd the buffalo and search for water holes
And stand out over the cattle at night and fight off any wolves
Sometimes I ride the travelin'(?) train and stand inside a church
And ask God to forgive and bless this cowboy and his work
Singin' I will be a cowboy again
I will ride the dusty road again-
Till the end
I remember roaming calves and brandin' them with iron
And coping with the wind and driving rain and prairie fire
I remember days before when my work to came to an end
And someday when the world is changed I'll ride the range again
And someday when the world has changed I'm gonna ride the range again!
I will be a cowboy again
I will ride the dusty road again
I will be a cowboy again
I will ride the dusty road again-
Till the end, till the end, till the end!
