Dagger’s Path
Huddled under monuments to conspicuous waste
Wading through piles of human refuse
[?]
I walk a dagger's path through a city of masks
Eyes downcast 'cause the walls stare back
Careful not to get caught in the current of the crowd
Mesmerizing sights, hypnotic sounds
La-dee-da-dee-da
We know why you came to this part of town
La-dee-da-dee-da
Memories escaped and sorrows drowned
With my case I drop anchor five bucks, place both bait and bet
Then my voice chums the waters, five strings cast a net
La-dee-da-dee-da
Come, come make an offering to the dead
La-dee-da-dee-da
Lеst they get restlеss, half-drunk and half-fed
The human tides subside, I'm left alone to collect my catch
Then cling to last call with fellow urchins
And the litter, the living left
You thought you knew the odds
You're not too [?]
You thought you knew the odds
But the house always wins
