Above the water
Enrico Minelli
Above the water
He used to wake at five fifteen
The night before he prayed for a good tide
When he was young swore the sea
Offering to dedicate his life, and cried
He'd grabbed his things just thinking of the water
And then kissed his child goodbye
He kneeled begging for safety
Devoted to the ocean gods on high
He lives above the water
Everything is between the lines
It's all about the water
Everything will be just fine
He had in life all that he needs
Inherited his father's old raft
His father taught him how to fish
And to respect the ocean to survive, survive
He never questioned his purpose in the universe
He never asked for more than he could find
A simple life of whom is free
The freedom found deep inside his heart
