Clarity

Devon Werkheiser

There’s two competing, never fleeting, drums I have been beating to
In order to discover, what’s the way, in, around or under?
One is urging me to go ahead and take the leap, the other one is saying “keep your feet!”
They both have served me, done me justice, but this moment I feel disconcerted with the choice that I’m gonna to make to trust this
Our choices make up who we are, I don’t know what to do about you.
Confusion what’s your game? Do you want to me to go and lose my name?

Oh, clarity, has gotten away from me
I can’t find any answers in my head
This life’s too short to live, looking to my reason for everything
I need to find some other lens
For some clarity

We live in an age of so many choices that the voices in my head are feeling torn and battered scattered around trying to touch the truth
But the truth has many doppelgangers, hanger-on-ers, if I get fooled by one of them I know that I’m a goner
There’s so many people who are just trying to survive, like scared little squirrels always shifting their eyes,
I wanna see that this reality in front of me is exactly what I need to see to choose who I want to be
Confusion whats your game? I just want you to go and forget my name

Oh, clarity, has gotten away from me
I can’t find any answers in my head
This life’s too short to live, looking to my reason for everything
I need to find some other lens (find some other lens)
For some clarity
