They told me that it’s safe, then so why aren’t they around?

The machine stops for a moment
I can hear it breathing
Its cogs keep spinning
What’s that sound, what’s that sound in my head?
It’s a crackle that’s not supposed to be there

Every track it plays, it hits in different ways
The machine’s chaotic melody, it rotates and it sways
How long has it been, is it okay? Is it safe?
Did they find that thing in me, that’ll put me in the grave?
