Lousy Season

Gregory Brown

The teams I commit to are having a rough season
LeBron wont help my Lakers, not even
Gruden wont help my Raiders, even a little bit
But what confuses US the most is how our morals turned so quick

The home teams are doing well
And the away teams are doing swell
The one who needs a tower to dwell
Send that MF on straight to hell

I have good intentions and I want peace for all
Some aren't good neighbors and want to build a wall
If I win the lotto I'll have a million bucks
If not I'll lose a buck and just say, "Shucks"

It's hard, as I put my hopes into theirs
If they succeed then it'll be all cheers
If they don't then we'll all cry together
For the common good we'll try again next winter

No matter if we win or lose
My families my team-base
Brothers, Sisters, Aunt's, Uncles and Cousins
Now all the parents number a dozen

So we had a lousy season full of injury and loss
At least we have each other a refuge from the boss
We'll try again and again and again
Something real that doesn't spin, make US United once again
