Daytime Dreaming

Greg Holden

I've been watching the waves
Looking for the places that I could've escaped
I feel the stones on my bones
Inspiring my to stand up and leave this alone

So I catch myself the next dream I see
But as usual I don't get a seat
My feelings expand
As the wind on my hand teases me

I've been trying to understand
Desparately turning the clocks with my hand
It's a far from easy ask
Speeding up my future to forget about my past

I'm watching with envious eyes
My ambition still dressed in disguise
The wind is still blowing
But still I'm not knowing what confuses me

Daytime dreaming
It helps my seeing
Daytime dreaming needs to see

So I breathe out my every last breath
I ask myself quick
Do I get it yet?

I've been staring in the dark
But the lack of direction just pulls me apart
I hear a go on the right
But a stop on my left
Puts a thorn in my side

I blame the men on my shoulders
But without them it's hopeless
I choices but I'm choiceless

Daytime dreaming
It helps my seeing
Daytime dreaming needs to see (2x)
