Please don’t be forthright
And say I should know
I should have known that long ago
Over a foolish impulse
A practical mindset should prevail
But I’m the customer
And I am deceived
By my belief in right from wrong
Don’t ever repeat these words
Honesty’s no excuse
For allowing a wider gap
Proximity of a distant ocean
