At Least I'm Self-Aware

My mind is made of glass
The spiderweb of cracks, it shakes the walls again
Sometimes I forget it's there
The light comes shining in, reflects across the battle scars I wear

I'm just doing my best to stop the bleeding
My smile can be deceiving
I play the hero
But anxiety makes me self-defeating

Pretend the cracks ain't there, but I don't care
I might be broken to the core
But at least I'm self-aware

Never got to be a child
My parents hated me, and wished that I was smarter all the while
They had it rough when they were kids, they brought me up the way they lived
And hey, the way I see it, one of us had to go to therapy, so lemme tell you, I'm glad I did
