Mending Fences
In summertime, I always find
A cowboy's life seems longer
Sun is high, the land is dry
One day becomes another
But in the fall, there's lots of toil
In terms of preparation
Storing food, and lots of wood
To get us through the cold
Oooh, I'm always mending fences
Everytime of year
Oooh, I'm always mending fences
Seems like the work never ends
Although you left so long ago
When things weren't working
Why don't you come on back
The ranch is looking good
In wintertime, the snow is high
Drifts up to the window
Keeping warm, with what's in store
Faith seems to get us through, though
But in the spring, there's lots of things
That need some reparation
The cows are out, and life's about
Living for the day
Oooh, I'm always mending fences
Everytime of year
Oooh, I'm always mending fences
Seems like the work never ends
Although you left so long ago
When things weren't working
Why don't you come on back
The ranch is looking good
