I Think I Swallowed a Butterfly
Well, I've gotten pretty lonely now
These last few weeks have been a long, hard drive without you
But, I think that I'll get over it, maybe I won't
But, I'm pretty sure that I can buy my way out of this one
I could open my eyes
I have a new life to follow
I could just forget you
But the pain would be too much to swallow
Everywhere you turn you've got a new only one
You're heading down a big black hole and when
You get to the bottom I won't be there to help you
Everyone can see that you're getting over me
But I've still got the butterflies, I've still got them inside me
I guess I just need to give it up and let go because you're not coming back to me for sure
Are the butterflies just there or are they there for a reason
I don't recall eating such a thing
I don't remember when or why this all happens
I guess that means it happens naturally
Every time I see you
It feels like the first time I met you
Maybe I'll just erase this
And all the pain that you put me through
Everywhere you turn you've got a new only one
You're heading down a big black hole and when
You get to the bottom I won't be there to help you
Everyone can see that you're getting over me
But I've still got the butterflies, I've still got them inside me
I guess I just need to give it up and let go because you're not coming back to me for sure
Now I've opened my eyes
And I've taken the path I need to take
But nothing seems real here
It's like a world that's meant to break
The parts fall down and then I'm stuck
I'd fight my way out but it's just my luck
You turn around and you're here to stay
Now getting over you is whole new game
Everywhere you turn you've got a new only one
You're heading down a big black hole and when
You get to the bottom I won't be there to help you
Everyone can see that you're getting over me
But I've still got the butterflies, I've still got them inside me
I guess I just need to give it up and let go because you're not coming back to me for sure
