Love Forever

Jordan Brown

I don’t know when I’ll be able
To give you this letter
But when that day comes
I’ll love you forever
All the laughter and tears
Feeling humbled and proud
So many things I’ll want to teach you
So little time allowed
Things I’ve found meaningful
That have helped me to grow
Those same blessings I pray
For you to always know

Find your own rose
And hold on to it close
Don’t be afraid to say ‘I love you’
Make sure that it knows
Choose your friends wisely
Look for people who care
Who you’re surrounded by matters
Anytime, everywhere
Love yourself fully
No one can say you’re unworthy
Put your health first
Even when it hurts
Relationships take effort,
Communication, and empathy
Admit all your losses
And humble in victories
Never let anyone
Abuse who you’ve become
Stand up for yourself
With your eyes to the sun
Some of your relationships
Won’t last you a lifetime
Not all of them should
Take it as a sign
There’s hope to believe in
And many good things to come
While some have ended
Beautiful ones have begun
And there will be times you fail
That same hope may seem lost
Learn from your mistakes
No matter the cost
Most important of all
Is just one single word
‘Love’, my sweetheart
Love always comes first
If you remember one thing
After you’ve closed your eyes
I pray that it’s this
When the sun starts to rise, because
Love is patient, love is kind
Love does not want what belongs to others
It does not boast, it does not become conceited
Love is not ill-mannered, self-seeking,
Or easily angered
Love keeps no record of wrongdoing
It does not rejoice in iniquity
But rejoices in the truth
Love bears all things
Believes all things
Hopes all things
Endures all things
Love never fails

I love you forever
