If I should die?
If I should die
If I should die, just know my fight was real, my life was real and what I chased
If you read between the lines
Should clearly be revealed
I was never scared, maybe a little too bold
It's easy to lift fist but what if your enemy isn't physical but the system that exists
Then what does it matter if you're gunning them down or beating them down?
Just know I am tired of dragging my body
From the depths of the ground
Something's got to change and through destruction that happens
Comfortable in a system but never walking through the prestigious part of the pasture
If I should die, my intention
Was for my young black boys
Not to have to experience youth detention
If I should die riddled with bullets, my poems riddled with full clips Left behind for my Young army to explore with ...
I am not surprised on the day I die; I just lay there with my last breaths, vision through My children and peers are the ones I did it for
If I should die, just read between the lines and you better not cry because real ones Always survive. My memory should be the light...
When I die, I want the world to know the value of being different in a world like this
I am almost sure I will be the last in my blood line to experience prison because there Has to be a better way of living if I should die
