The Michigander sensed his pride of place
Inflated, courting history
Dreamt his name in microfiche
And voted as the ratifying state
Jersey, next in line
Again, deprived
Never quite the bride
Left out like the college kid
Texas gadfly who started it
A thesis his professor didn’t buy
Then, became his life
Missionized!
Until the 27th passed tonight
The house can’t grant itself a raise
