Still Standing

Jonah Sorrentino

I'm waking up to helicopters plus an ambulance
Then I go to bed with sirens and I ate a half a can
Of nasty spam that I cram with some candied yams
Plus its flooded all up on my yard just where i used to stand
Felt the sweat up on my face its running down my nose
Till it starts to pour and now it's running all on down my clothes
Standing in the door looking at these broken roads
Then I see these broken souls but I there's a hope I only know
Felt the Holy Ghost fill me up and start to flow
Clench my fist while I'm shifting back and forth just on my toes
Say a prayer to heaven asking God to help me go
Through another day without no power, water or some soap
Hug my kids thankful that we made it out alive
I'm staring at the sky thinking about now how many died
I told them go outside while they playing on drive
Then I realized im still standing held my head up high
We still standing
Walking out my door now I'm standing sideways
Cause I got a telephone pole just in my driveway
I see these broken fences now all in my gaze
But I'm a see the Lord's provision now just in my days
Let the church arise I see the body of Christ
Loving their neighbor like every time I step outside
I know my Savior well He calls me now just to find
The one lost sheep while he left the 99 behind
I climb inside my car so I can charge my phone
Run the AC so I can gone get some time alone
Looking at my wife while she standing inside my home
Thinking about how my whole entire city was inside the cone
Of a cat 5 hurricane it sure is strange
God's gonna turn the pain God's gone bring the change
Storms may come but storms will not remain
Cause He's still on His throne He will always reign
I'm still standing
