The Beast Within
I've masked the pain
And lived the lie
At times I've said
I want to die
I've felt alone
In crowded rooms
Those thoughts within
They can consume
I've given all
Until I've bled
And felt the weight
Of tears I've shed
This lonely cell
I call my mind
Can be a tomb
I've come to find
Nobody knows
Just what it's like
To contemplate
Ending your life
There comes a point
Of sink or swim
When you must face
The beast within
You can't understand the feeling
If you've never walked a mile
We have and our feet are bleeding
I've had enough, we've had enough
So many lost
Along the way
If I had known
Some words to say
Those ones I love
Might still be here
To share the laughs
As well as tears
We see it more
Day after day
Another life
Ended this way
So much is lost
Yet nothing gained
When one succumbs
To their own pain
Nobody knows
Just what it's like
To contemplate
Ending your life
There comes a point
Of sink or swim
When you must face
The beast within
You can't understand the feeling
If you've never walked a mile
We have and our feet are bleeding
I've had enough, we've had enough
