A Glimpse
Not long ago atop a mountain covered
In fog so thick I couldn't see I heard the words You said
Love of mine would only be so for such a short time
And then someone would say to me that she is dead
On my knees 'Thy will be done!' came bursting forth
I could see the peaks as the mist did clear
A glimpse for but a moment I held it dear
But it soon was gone and I walked down
Deep in the hope in which You have me bound
I went west and passed not by the ocean
But stripped myself and waded in to be pounded by the waves
Salt and the cold put my mind to baptism
So I left it up to You to lead and guide me in Your ways
Breathing again 'Thy will be done!' came bursting forth
Back onto the land I've walked til now
Still bound in hope and with a vow
I covered myself in clothes and Thy blood
To make my way home to Thee my God
I didn't make it far before I stumbled
And fell to the earth wondering where I had gone wrong
You said to me Your strength is in my weakness
Still I am learning how to say that You are strong
My head down 'Thy will be done!' came bursting forth
And so Thy gentle hand came to raise my face
Praise be unto You Lord for Your grace
Teach me to accept the love You pour out
And how to receive it with no doubt
