Mental Storms

Lewis Loh Zhi Hou

I crawl inside,
Inside of my mind.
I run away with creatures they hide,
They guide me home,
We play in the ground,
‘cause nature, she knows I don’t want to be found.

Come with me,
There’s plenty of space.
We paint all the food,
And have a little taste.
It snows all year,
But the snow is as warm,
As the hearts that suffer,
From not being normal.

Chorus:
Sometimes we face all these mental storms,
We fight with ourselves,
Till we break our bones.
The lights they go out,
As we scare ourselves,
But candles exist,
To help us out.
You are the wolf who cries for the boy,
Waiting for someone to bring you toys,
The lights they go out,
As we scare ourselves,
But candles exist to help us out.

Read all the books as fast as I can,
Before they’re ripped apart by big burly men.
Swim in the river with all of my friends,
Until it all evaporates,
And the fish are all dead.
Tattoo myself, with life and with trees,
I dance in the woods with my friend reality.
Tryin’ to find, more reasons to leave,
This place was built for you and me.
