As a writer
I write a lot of things
And record a lot of people on this mic but
But sometimes
But a lot of times
I need to remind myself
Not to be a
Not to be a hypocrite you know
And just

Be thankful for the things you have now
All that giving that you're doing in the present
Will come back around
Tell your demons they can wait awhile
Show 'em something
Show them that your stronger in the moment
You ain't budging none
You may feel a lot of hurt
Lot of pain, lot of guilt
Longer days of seeing grays
Stuck in rain
All the same broken records playing games
Listen to me when I tell you
Stand up on you're own two feet
Everything gets brighter with no cliche
I'm doing me so do you
Not worried 'bout what he say
Spoke to the universe for support
I'm not allowing any leeway this time
Teenager from Ohio trying his luck
For peat sake I grind
Feels like when you start achieving
People go blind
Cuz you stepped out the box
With the category they aligned for you
Don't just give me one label unless it's greatness
But I got to be thankful
So I thank you
For the good times and the bad
The good times show you
What the future has in store
While the bad times show you
How far you've come
So you got to be thankful
That's why I'm thankful
