A Rose From the Concrete (Intro)
[Spoken]
A rose like no other, ha
As our foundations were not those of soil
But the hearts of men trodden on by the many feet of the soldiers who came before us
So they call me a rose from the concrete
Because they witness how I rose from the concrete
Staring, complicit in my ascendency
Now it's high stakes as they gamble on my demise
But, look
No longer I'll be red
We prefer the hue of blue that flashes over our neutral skin as our rights are read to us
This is just the beginning
They call it germination
I call it curating roots so powerful we could last for decades
Even centuries
So with that said
Welcome to our blue
We know tomorrow isn't promised
But I'll tell you this
We'd be damned if we let one petal fall
