THE MYSTIC RIVER
By: Ken David
To make out in a land, where you become a man
No race will ever be ran, but boats will go where they can
Around an island on the Mystic River
Please make sure who you are before you travel too far
It's easy losing your mind in a world of its kind
And there's an island on the Mystic River
I look once toward empty space
I look again to see a face
It's not that of a birthday boy
It's not a look that's filled with joy
An angry smile, an eerie style
The show has yet to begin
On the Mystic River
I light a candle to see what other than darkness surrounds me
The wind chills the flame and astounds me
The rain pouring down's gonna drown me
But I've not known before of the likes
On the Mystic River
Stay for the rest of the day
You'll like the games we can play
As we're sailing away
On the Mystic River
On The Mystic River
