My Ode to Adam Young, Owl City

There's an artist in this world that is like nobody else
He makes music that helps me get back up when I'm looking for some help
To make my day a little brighter when I feel down in the dumps
He reminds me that I'm not alone, and spreads a wonderful message

Story time
About a month ago, I was texting my friend Cristabel
We were having an amazing conversation that went pretty well
And when she asked if I wanted to know her go-to-artist, I said yes
She said it was Owl City, and my my, was I impressed

I'd already known the man since I was 14 years old
An old friend of mine recommended Fireflies, and I searched it on YouTube
I played the song, and it sounded pretty swell
And I've known him ever since, but never knew him very well

All I knew is that he looked like Rodrick in his music video, which was pretty funny
Fireflies became iconic for me, and I had it on replay ever since
But when I really dove into his music for real like Cristabel recommended so
I was completely taken back, and felt a little piercing in my soul

So thank you Adam Young, you gave me a whole new vision
Of the potential that music can have when you choose to follow God
With genius lyrics and composition that tells all in the world that they are not forgotten
You're the only other one besides OneRepublic that I think makes good pop music
But that's more than just a genre, and you've proven what can be done with it

I deleted my old website and rebuilt one with Google Sites
Took inspiration from your website and added my own little style
I created a whole Spotify playlist with all your releases
And let me tell you, none of your songs fail
Like Vitamin Sea, Adam, Check Please, and Good Time

But I love that you make music that is genuinely good and clean
Not to mention that you're a Christian man, which I think is pretty sweet
The Tornado brought me to tears, so does Kelly Time
Adam, Check Please, reminds me of when I got my first job
Which I still work at during the nights

Good Time is undoubtedly a good song that I shamelessly put on repeat
Carly's voice is so beautiful and it blended with the song perfectly
No words could describe the remarkable and powerful influence you've had on me
Both as a person and as a believer in God, and it seriously means a lot to me

Thank you for being you and for doing what you do
Never stop making music, especially the kind that spreads the truth
You know that God is by your side, and so are all of us
I will never stop listening, whether on a plane or on a bus
