Hey people why do we let fear chain us down?
No one sees what’s inside that tent
Restitution is just hollow prayers sent
Rhetoric comes with no money spent
But I’ll damned if anything can pay the rent
Helpless and homeless are burning their hope
Clothes all strewn from some sacrificial rope

Together we stand divided we stall
No hail of bullets gonna make us crawl
Strategies taught and battles will be fought
But a man who’s hungry cannot always be bought
Picked apart patterned in risk
Nobody likes it when you raise your fist
See what you want and just deny
That empty stare is an empty lie

Why can’t we stand together
without our backs turned around?
Culprits and hypocrites take their oath
Corporates and delegates aim the scope
But I can see beauty in the seeds of change
You better look at yourself and take some blame
