I'll go slowly as we drive among the pines

The sudden chirp from where the rubber meets the street
Pressed up against the wheel because you cannot reach
We go lurching
I'm filling up with sheer delight
You talk about the fire that we saw last night
And send us to that pier to try and see the sight
Let's keep looking
Now all the lows that had me beat
Go missing when we turn onto that empty street
Descending onto bleachers hoping no one sees
We should go
It's so strange to feel these knots
I'd lose the bet that said that I would have this thought
The fools of modern day just got a new mascot
