Those Who Fear

Daniel Flores

When i'm closing my eyes
I hear the wood, it creaks
Water run down my feet
I got nothing to hide
Clearly my conscience speaks
A poor man's captivity

This war should be over
Broken angels defy
How my hands will be tied
Crawl to the crows
Beg for voluntary poets
For we cannot become what we framed

There are daggers buried in my yard
Like culinary thorns
For my knees to fall on

I'm glad we had this conversation
For i couldn't wait to spill out
All that wine on your face
I'm cutting loose all my relations
Breaking bread with you makes me worse
That ties those who fear

Let me walk in the light
As the reality, spits on my vanity
Here's where i will die
Happy thoughts, scary eyes, who am i to deny?

The one who calls to the crows
Begs for voluntary poetry
For we cannot become what we framed
There are daggers buried in my yard
Like culinary thorns for my knees to crawl on

I'm glad we had this conversation
For i couldn't wait to spill out
All that wine on your face
I'm cutting loose all my relations
Breaking bread with you makes me worse
Wipe that smile off your face

All i want is to free, all those doves
All these statues see me, as i am

I'm glad we had this conversation
For i couldn't wait to spill out
All that wine on your face
I'm cutting loose all my relations
Breaking bread with you makes me worse
Wipe that smile off your face
