Melancholy Five
Look at us, the melancholy five
So serious, despite how hard we try
To kick back and keep it loose
We hold tight to what we fear we'll lose
Walls of stone, a treacherous climb
Into unknown, guarded hearts take time
To unlock ancient doors
And forgive the hurt we met before
But Mom said that we'll be fine
And all the holes will fill with time
Play it cool, we stumbled through the spring
And summer too, now we feel the sting
Of harvest and holidays
I'll never find the words to say
But Mom said that we'll be fine
All the holes will fill with time
But what can possibly replace
Her pretty cheek pressed against my face?
It's hard to imagine
That happiness can happen again
But Mom said that we'll be fine
And all the holes will fill with time
Mom said that we'll be fine
And all the holes will fill with time
And Mom's fire still blazes in us five
