I could've sworn you were dead, at least that's what they said

You made a habit of staring at the walls
Like they were your best friends
The only thing that remains never changes at all

You wondered, "What's the point?"
"What use do I have left?"
Nobody wants to see you wither away from them
Had you eternally slept, what would've happened then?
