Thank You Most Kindly
Thank you, ladies and gentlemen. I am most unworthy
But I accept your kind gifts and awards on behalf of the Poorest of the Poor
The medals are beautiful
I'll melt down all the gold
It will clothe and feed so many
As soon as it is sold
I'll auction off the Lincoln
I won't fit in that car
With that I'll open a Home for Lepers
Indeed it will go far
Thank you for the citizenship
I shall visit the US
And open homes and shelters
For the Great American Homeless
The Nobel Foundation Prize
Is the most precious on the planet
But I could do without
That six thousand dollar Laureate's Banquet
Cancel it please, and send us the money
To Calcutta instead
Hundreds of hungry for a year
Shall be fed
So thank you most kindly
The poor shall remember you fondly
For you have touched their lives
Most profoundly
