Fishing Days to Fame
Started as a 2 year old trying to over come my steps and to become my dad follow in his footsteps
Sit and cast a reel on those steep steep hills of that golf course pond filled with sunfish and a blue gill
But we’d Sit there either dusk or dawn listening to our favorite songs we had ourselves a spot for a man and son to bond
But as time moved on I began to pick up on that our time was comin on us and sooner or later he’d be passing on
One more cast is all I need to be that close to him One more time then I’ll say goodbye forever
When we meet again some day I’ll sit there and I’ll say daddy I’ve overcome my days and lived your spirit
Until the day comes to be bringin the fishing days to fame
I remember those old days feels so much like yesterday when we’d sit there at the park just to burn away day
It wasn’t just a waste I was there with my best mate little did I know our time together was like counting down days
And when it’s time to say good bye makes a man and son to cry but we’d see eachother again when my time passes by
One more cast is all I need to be that close to him One more time then I’ll say goodbye forever
When we meet again some day I’ll sit there and I’ll say daddy I’ve overcome my days and lived your spirit
Until the day comes to be bringin the fishing days to fame
Just know that your son will do the best he’s ever done just to be like you in your spirit
And when that one day will come he will be with you until your gone and moving on to heaven
One more cast is all I need to be that close to him One more time then I’ll say goodbye forever
When we meet again some day I’ll sit there and I’ll say daddy I’ve overcome my days and lived your spirit
Until the day comes to be bringin the fishing days to fame
