Cardboard

When I was six years old
I had a little plushie dog called Alice
I took her everywhere
As if she was my best friend
But one day I moved to another city
I lost Alice in the process
No toy could ever replace her

And I've got a feeling that
Life is just like that sometimes
You lose stuff in the process
And you never ever find
But the more I lose in the cardboard sea
The more I find inside of me
Some troubles come to make us learn

Now I'm turning 21 and
I have a dream I can't do nothing about
If I only I could make it come true
But I can only wish it would get out
Waiting got the best of me
Feels like it ran over my head
Truth is I have nothing left to do
Only to accept

And I've got a feeling that
Life is just like that sometimes
You find stuff in the process
That never leaves your mind
But the more I find in the cardboard sea
The more I lose inside of me
The waiting comes to make us learn

The move showed me
That it ain't a cardboard sea
It's actually made of water
I'm the one made of cardboard
And as I sink, I suffer
The sea changes my structure
But I have to make it through
The water makes me new

And I've got a feeling that
Life is just like that sometimes
You lose yourself in the process
And then you find
'Cause when the cardboard meets the sea
Jesus changes inside of me
The water comes to make me new
