Colin’s Eulogy

Savan DePaul

[Intro]
A poem for my fallen comrade
A poem for a fellow MC
For the organism so named Colean
A victim of my scimitar
Another unfortunate crippled star...

[Verse 1]
He longed for the recognition and fame that showered upon his contemporaries
He never worried about the possibility of obscurity
So nervously he worried
We pondered that his insecurities hurried his demise
The cries of the Aryan devil, blaring in treble
Colean ingested codeine in the wake of his racing victories
Taking 18 Xanax and blazing the J with peeps
He lived life as if tomorrow never was spawned
But lost contact with his soul upon the end of the dawn
Some called him incompetent, or a moronic peon
But he stayed somewhat prominent if not dominant
He always looked out for his ragtag team of sprinting vagabond trespassers
Even if he took the form of a plastic actor with the facade of the baddest rapper
Gastric acid manufactured because of psychoactive tablets plastered and attached to his
Abdomen
He happily lived his days in a manner similar to this
Until he stupidly decided to kick me a diss
Desecrating what the Scatterbrain had imbued with knowledge
Now the God wailed on Olympus for your local omnipotent to inhibit his mission
And summon all neurosyphilis-afflicted triple sixers to dime and nickel this stripling
Until he faded from existence...

[Hook]
So bow your heads for the child on ecstasy lying next to me
And don’t end up like him
So bow your heads for the child on ecstasy lying next to me
And don’t end up like him

[Verse 2]
I remember his joyous mood
Born out of wedlock to a vocal booth
Wanted to own the moon
But became the groom to a tomb close to you
I jested in a callout
Added varnish to the paint
And harnessed the restraints to ensure I didn’t cross the line
But, God was I misdirected
Interjecting swift as ever, the young blonde spoke
And a disgusting, ignorance-encrusted, corrupted substance erupted from his tongue
And he needed a comeuppance
The youthful blasphemer wanted to curse the archbishop
So I threw him off the roof and he became our Bishop

[Hook]
So bow your heads for the child on ecstasy lying next to me
And don’t end up like him
So bow your heads for the child on ecstasy lying next to me
And don’t end up like him
So bow your heads for the child on ecstasy lying next to me
And don’t end up like him
So bow your heads for the child on ecstasy lying next to me
And don’t end up like him
