"So why and exactly how do we get acid rain? Acid rain occurs due to reactions in the air above us. The reactions come from two different places- volcanoes and factories. Since the Industrial Revolution, acid rain has happened on and off."

It refers to rain that has a lower pH than 7, and is more acidic
