[Part 1]
In 1994, a team of divers discovered a small, unmarked cave entrance on the coast of Belize, about 5600m below sea level, a roughly 3x3 metre crack in the side of a large ridge, which was covered with moss, entangled with rocks
When approaching the entrance of the cave, the four divers experienced strange “side effects”, with one of the divers suffering a cardiac arrest, causing him to fall into a coma for 18 days, he eventually made a full recovery avoiding major injuries
A few photographs were taken from a distance, and the news spread internationally overnight like wildfire. Every local, national and international news source had a story on what would be dubbed “The Devils Cave.”
The next morning, following the initial news break, an American company SEMTEX™ had funded a full voyage into the cave, complete with a newly crafted submersible named “The Toothpick”a tall and thin pod-like vessel, perfectly crafted to enter the caves slim and ridged entrance
Franklin Cook was chosen to lead the mission. A 21 year old British college dropout who initially started training to be a pilot, but eventually switched his focus to deep sea exploration
Records show Mr. Cook started working for SEMTEX™ in 1994, the same year as the voyage of “The Toothpick.”
Little is known as to why Franklin Cook was chosen to be the pilot of the submersible, as he was only 9 weeks into a 52 week submariner training course, being seemingly unqualified for the job
Due to the size of the vehicle, no extra passengers able to board The Toothpick, only Franklin, equipped with minimal supplies and some assistance from SEMTEX™ via a radio
This is the recently found recording of that voyage on the March 14th, 1994
