i said it too many times
in the pastout of habit to make things last
maybe i never meant it at all
i don't know somehow it seemed wrong

three words that i've used and abused
thrown around in vain
at times they made me insane

but now they're a part of my daily routine
when I think of it it's the most natural thing
it may be the biggest cliché of them all
cause it's true yeah you yeah you
you make it so easy to say i need you

you never turn me away
back me up when I win and I fail
you shattered my walls
and appreciate all of these flaws

and when you say those words I believe them
in your eyes I can see them
it's like I knew I was waiting for you

but when we come to our senses we both realize
that since we got that love that is true
it makes it easier to say I forgive you
