Calligraphy Pen

Andrew Downard

I've been isolated for too long
It's no surprise all I know are my songs
Can't turn all the clock hands back to re-earn
All I do now is relearn and return
You need a light for a reflector to been seen
I'm reflecting the beam from the unseen figurine
Mind, body and soul, intellectual breath
Familiar with the paint buckets in pandora's chest
If I'm gonna do this forever, whenever
I'll be the different flavors in the layers
Try to be the savior navigator
Every time I look within when I hold my pen
The cave represents the pseudonym
I dug some many holes I found the treasure of jewels
To give to those who can't dig with their own tools
Class clown broke all the rules to be cool
Now writing the real new school
And it goes

Listen, let me open your mind
Plug your head-phones into my calligraphy pen
Listen, let me open your mind
Plug your head-phones into my calligraphy pen
Listen, let me open your mind
Plug your head-phones into my calligraphy pen
Listen, let me open your mind
Plug your head-phones into my calligraphy pen

The mission helps my decisions
My disposition is the definition of expansionism
I could claim that I am the best
But seeing who can last throughout the years is the test
Knowing my inner is deeper than a mirror
Dive into my words and your bones will shiver
I just be, and the core is what you're hearing
My craft is an other way it's appearing
Straight from my lungs to the tongue
It's a rhythm that I'm given, when you beat those drums
I might not get the best sleep throughout the week
It's just the effects of studying what you speak
Aligned with the right sun-dial
I've walked in the rain for miles
But still, my notebooks pile
Just know I'm a warrior holding up my torch
Frying your motherboard when they wanna hear some more
I'm searching for the highest plane that I can touch
It's a journey, to take the ones plugged and re-construct
Bringing this message, from a place that's produced
Since we are all trained to consume
I'm not searching for the treasure of gold
I'm producing jewels to give on my own
Rhythm and poetry, higher lever potency
I won't shut the fuck up, so you might know of me
Try having dreams on couches and floors
Made a skeleton key to unlock any door
Made the choice to map the points
Now here stands a man trying to keep his poise
This is more to me than just a game
When you listen life and hope are gained
It's the lyric straight from my spirit
I would still make an impact
Even if I didn't rap
