Storm Chaser
February 18th
Huge thunderheads are all I can see
I get in my dad's SUV
And start driving
Well, I can feel it in my bones
This isn't any ordinary eye of the storm
But lo! A tornado starts to form
My gut instincts were right
Drive down a road in northern Illinois
Getting a closer look for one, getting as far away for the other
I wouldn't describe this Ford Explorer as cover
But, you know, at least it has wheels
I watch one hit the ground, dropped my phone on the road
All the debris flying makes me think that this one is true
So I go and take a photo or two
'Cause it's something to do
Plinking on the sunroof, hail begins to fall
And though I might not bе prepared, I know what to do at this point
Becausе I have an easy way to get out of this joint
If it gets too hot to handle, which is often never
Now I eat my words as it's changing direction
But if my pedal's to the metal, I should get outta this site
Assuming I don't get picked up and end up flying like a kite
Y'know what, let's just get back home
