On this fateful Sunday evening, I was sittin’ on my bed
Tryna get away from all these voices in my head
So I laid down, leaned towards the right and prayed
I said “God, I don’t wanna live to see another day”
Man, I was done!
Everyday stayin in a loop, it wasn’t fruity
My heart felt like it’d gotten dipped in ice, I ain’t talkin Saweetie
Mentally done with this hood called earth
And all i longed for was to leave through the means called “death”
Take me up to where You are, God
I wanna see Your face!
I just need You to hold my hand
I’m tired of running this race!
Jesus, Jesus!
Through Your name I am saved
(Oh oh oh)
I just wanna be,
I wanna be–
“Heaven”
Why it feel so far away?
Why ain’t it just some earth house that I can run into and stay?
Why I gotta wait until the day I die ‘fore I can stand tall in Your presence singing “glory”, “hallelujah” and then cry?
Why?
You said this world is not my home, and I believe it!
Confessed it with my mouth, and in my heart I did receive it!
But I’m still here God,
Livin’ with all this trauma
Constantly cryin out to You
To set me free from the all this drama
But I’m still here God,
Livin’ with all this trauma
Constantly cryin out to You
To set me free
Take me up to where You are, God
I wanna see Your face!
I just need You to hold my hand
I’m tired of running this race!
Jesus, Jesus!
Through Your name I am saved
(Oh oh oh)
I just wanna be,
I wanna be–
Take me up to where You are, God
I wanna see Your face!
I just need You to hold my hand
I’m tired of running this race!
Jesus, Jesus!
Through Your name I am saved
(Oh oh oh oh)
I just wanna be,
I wanna be with You in–
Stop, let me get back to my story
Of how I'd been pleading with the Father to take me to see His glory
After leaning to the right, I laid back straight
And I looked at what the time said, it was half past eight
I closed my eyes
Soon enough, the time was nigh to do my roll call
My friends came in to wake me up to go, so my attendance wouldn’t fall
But I was mad, like “why am I still here?”
I wouldn’t open up my eyes, I wept and shed a lotta tears
All of a sudden, it felt like I was floating
Was on this clouded path where all of the sidewalks were golden
Still tryna wrap my head around all of this beauty,
When before my very eyes, I saw His hands stretched out from afar calling me and He said “come.”
And I knew that it was Him!
I ran with all my might towards the place that He was in
But as soon as I got close, He walked away
And I said Lord, I’m already here I seriously, really, truly wanna stay!
But He said “no, your time is not yet come.
Go back to the world and spread the good news of the Son”
And He said “no, your time is not yet come.
Go back to the world and spread the good news of the Son”
