Dust-Pit

Going up the crumbling stairs
Mother’s hand for not to fall
Escaping the cave we hid for weeks
Seeing the light from a shattered hall

Cars are black melted cakes
Mother’s hand for not to slip
Holes everywhere, pits in the streets
The city of mine became dust-pit

On my daily trip to school
Mother’s hand for hurry up
Pavements full of friends and simple tools
Inventing new worlds and cheering up

There is no door, no more wood
The is no wall, no more stone
Walls exploded, no livelihood
Doors disappeared from every home

It used to be my sandpit
It has become a dust-pit
Lost in a world burned to the ground
None of my friends does play around

Humans seem like shadows
Hiding away within dark dusts
Praying for death for not to blow
Staying buried like wounded dogs

Roofs are black melted castles
Mother’s hand letting me go
We could not win this fierce battle
The city of mine now’s inferno

In a few nights with few sleep
All these worlds now disappeared
Life is now rough, life is now cheap
With guns hidden and snipers ditched

Going along stinky trenches
Mother’s hand for not to faint
Meeting only blunt emptiness
Dirty sky, bad colours, ugly paint

It used to be my sandpit
It has become a dust-pit
Lost in a world burned to the ground
None of my friends does play around
It used to be my sandpit
It has become a dust-pit
It used to be children’s playground
But there’s war on the background
