Thank You For Love
Dovetails fall again
I'm blessed to call us friends
Oh I don't know what's worse
The bleeding from the damage
Or the joy because it hurts
Love can't be love rehearsed
We suffer so we can live
A stark contrast, but it's the same
Bones wrap 'round the flesh
And ghosts will dance around the grave
Flowers entomb the corpse in mourning
A star falls deeper down again
For a moment it all stops, then starts again
Natural law is only fair
You cannot win, you cannot lose
So let that set your mind at ease
Like a sailboat on the ocean
Or a kite up in the sky
You cannot steer, you only ride
The waves provide, so enjoy the time
Endure the scrapes and cuts
You bruise your knee, you scar your shin
But you'll get up again
The skin will heal and you will grow
Oh I don't know what's worse
The bleeding from the damage
Or the joy because it hurts
Love is love, because of loss
Without the bitter
There’s no sweet
You peel away the skin, ammunition
Self sacrifice with noble cause
I count my blessings on two hands
Thank happenstance
For the all the love I’ve known
We are so delicate
But that’s the beauty in it all
Oh I don't know what's worse
The bleeding from the damage
Or the joy because it hurts
Love can't be love rehearsed
We suffer so we can live
A stark contrast, but it's the same
Dovetails fall again
I'm blessed to call us friends
Dovetails fall again
I'm blessed to call us friends
