I Can’t Make It Snow
I know how to have fun with bells
Lost of poster-paint and pasta shells
I can make anything that you can think of out of a sock
Folding bits of paper up and carefully cutting out
Concertina Christmas trees in our dressing gowns
You keep looking hopefully off out of the window
But I can't make it snow for you
I can't make it snow
I know how to make the most of things
Empty shoe-boxes and bits of string
But I can't fix everything that you want me to with PVA glue
We could build a snowman in the driveway if it snows
With lumps of coal for eyes and a carrot nose
If I built an igloo you could be an Eskimo
But I can't make it snow for you
I can't make it snow
I guess it's just the way it goes
I'll have to tell you things
I don't want you to know
Sitting in the kitchen on my own on Christmas Eve
Wrapping all your presents up while you are asleep
I guess we're going to have to try to make it on our own
'Cause I can't make it snow for you
I can't make it snow
I can't make it snow
I can't make it snow...
