There was a wild colonial boy, Jack Donohoe was his name
Of poor but honest parents, he was born in Castle Maine
He was his father's only son, his mother's pride and joy

And though Australia's sunny clime, an outlaw, he did roam
He robbed the Beachworth mail coach, and he shot Judge Macavoy

Now one day, as he was riding, the mountain sighed along
A-listening to the littlе birds, their pleasant laughing song
Three mountain troopers rodе along, Kelly, Davis and Fitzroy
They had all set out to capture him, the wild colonial boy

"Surrender now, Jack Donohoe, you daring highwayman"
He drew his pistol from his belt and shouted at Fitzroy
"I'll fight but not surrender" said the wild colonial boy

He fired at trooper Kelly and he brought him to the ground
And in return from Davis, he received a mortal wound
A bullet through his heart, he lay, still firing at Fitzroy
