Stained Glass Eyes

Felt I was an old sailboat anchored in your mind
The Dead Sea slowly rising and the water turned to wine
I was drunk on the time passing, I was cradled by the tide

This wind brought a howl, got me in a storm
I saw a lighthouse spinning at the edge of the world
Like looking through a window to the day I was born

How green is the valley when you step out of the mines
And see the bright light shining through a pair of stained glass eyes?
There's nothing here to rely on but a compass in the sky

You can dust your feathers after you've burned the crown of thorns
